Damping At the Level of Adaptation

Damping is a behavior that shows up at the Level of Competition. It is the ability to counteract forces and bring about equilibrium within a system. As such, it is a programable quality—meaning that it should be trained at the Level of Adaptation within any Conjugate strategy. Below is a video of an Oscillatory Isometric Muscle Action. using the bench press, bands and chains.

Can you see the damping effect at the Level of Adaptation?

A thorough programming strategy should elicit training effects that ultimately carry over or translate to performance. The above video demonstrated training using an oscillatory load, that is designed to acquire certain behaviours from the athlete that equate to Reactive Strength. The video below shows an athlete training a specific skill that is required within their performance environment.
